Bisons Split Doubleheader

The Herd and Chiefs split a doubleheader Friday night for the second day in a row at Coca-Cola Field. The Bisons slugged their way to a 7-2 game one win but missed some opportunities in game two as Syracuse came back to take the nightcap, 2-1.

Chip Ambres' three-run homer capped a four-run fifth inning in game one as the Bisons opened up a 7-1 lead. Ambres' blast followed hard hit singles by Jesus Feliciano and Nick Evans and a scorching RBI double by Mike Lamb down the right field line.

Feliciano went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI double and Robinson Cancel hit his second home run of the season leading off the second inning for the Herd.

Seven runs was more than enough for Bisons' starter Tobi Stoner who allowed just two runs and struck out six in six innings of work.

Stoner and the rest of the Bisons pitching staff allowed just seven runs over the four-game, two-day stretch against the Chiefs at Coca-Cola Field.
