Mets Name Bisons’ Jesus Feliciano As Triple-A Sterling Award Winner


The New York Mets today announced that OF Jesus Feliciano was named the organization’s Sterling Award Winner for the Buffalo Bisons, emblematic of the Most Valuable Player on the team.


Each year, the Mets announce an organizational player and pitcher of the year as well as awards for MVP on each of their nine affiliated clubs in the minor league system. 1B Ike Davis of Binghamton (AA)/St. Lucie (A) was the organizational Player of the Year while RHP Jeurys Familia of Savannah (A) was the Mets minor league Pitcher of the Year.


Feliciano, 30, was also awarded the Bisons Stan Barron Most Valuable Player after a stellar campaign in 2009. The outfielder led all International League hitters with 154 base hits, tied for the 5th highest single-season total in the Bisons modern era. Feliciano hit .311 (154-495)(5th highest in the IL) with 30 doubles, one home run and 42RBI in a team-high 130 games with the Bisons in 2009. He also led the club with 13 stolen bases and eight outfield assists.

I understand he's probably a AAAA player - but this guy has signed with us three years in row why not promote him as a reward for a great minor league season...

Ed, I never understand the logic of the Mets promoting some and leaving behind guys like Feliciano, McNabb, and Bostick. All deserve a trip to Queens to replace players that won't be on this team next year.
