So lets say 130MM is a safe, midle of the road, number for the payroll. That leaves 41MM for the 40 man roster. I think it is safe to say that Beltran will get moved to fill multiple holes. Either that or sell Reyes low and not get market value for him. I can't see that happening.

See, I see Beltran differently. With so many needs, I'd love to see the guy finish his career in Queens. He's the most under-appreciated superstar in baseball.
I'm sure we could fill in 15 guys at 400K on the 40-man, but you just never know who could be traded this off season.
Example: you're salary committed to Santana, Pelfrey, and Perez... what if you sign 2 FA SP's? That immediately makes Maine and Niese expendable.
