Lyle Overbay A Met ???

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Cubs have discussed the framework of a three-team deal involving Milton Bradley.

The idea is described as a longshot, but here's how it would play out: Bradley will go to the Blue Jays. Lyle Overbay will head to the Mets. And Luis Castillo will land with the Cubs. The teams involved have only discussed the deal's framework, and not in direct fashion, according to Rosenthal's sources. It seems a bit far-fetched to be taken seriously at this time.

It would free up some money in the future since he would probably be here just for one at less than what Castillo is owed and keep first base warm until Ike Davis is ready to take over for a long time, I hope.

works for me...

Anderson Hernandez/Alex Cora and Murphy/Overbay (.900 OBS vs. righties), until Reese Havens and Ike Davis mature...
