Ex-Mets: - Scott Schoeneweis, Frank Thomas, Gil Hodges, Armondo Benitez...and Edgardo Alfonzo

Scott Schoeneweis:

Scott signed a one-year minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox, which can earn him $500,000 if he makes the parent club. The Milwaukee Brewers released him on March 23. 

From Boston.com: 

Schoeneweis is 2-0 with a 2.59 ERA in 15 games at Fenway where's allowed a .168 average to lefty hitters and where he's walked just one batter in 31.3 innings. Schoenweis saw his first major league game at Fenway and his family hails from Fall River. He also played for Chatham in the Cape Cod League.

Thomas and Hodges:

April 21, 1957 Pirates/Dodgers at Ebbets Field. The Dodgers brought a 3-0 season record into the first game of an Easter Sunday doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Don Newcombe was hit hard and often in this 6-3 loss to the Pirates. In the third inning, Newcombe gave up back-to-back-to-back solo homeruns to Frank Thomas, Paul Smith and Dick Groat. The Dodger runs were scored in the ninth on a three-run homerun by Carl Furillo. The only other Dodger hit was a fifth inning single by Gil Hodges.

Benitez and Alfonzo:

"The Newark Bears announced today the signing of pitcher Armando Benitez and infielder Edgardo Alfonzo to the 2010 roster. Benitez and Alfonzo were teammates for the 2000 New York Mets.
