Minors Rages: Josh Thole, Tim Teufel... and Alonzo Harris

Bisons:

You can’t really bottle offense, so you might as well take advantage of it when it comes. The Buffalo Bisons used a season-high 15 hits to earn a 12-3 win over the Rochester Red Wings at Frontier Field on Thursday afternoon. It was the second time in three games that the Herd has scored double-digit runs with double-digit hits. The offensive onslaught peaked in the sixth inning when the Bisons scored five runs on five hits, including a two-out, bases-clearing double by Josh Thole. - link

B-Mets:

While the Binghamton Mets' pitching is still struggling, it was poor defense that led to Thursday night's 10-3 loss to New Hampshire at NYSEG Stadium. B-Mets starter Eddie Kunz surrendered five runs in four innings, then second baseman Jose Coronado committed a pair of fielding errors in consecutive innings that led to four unearned runs and an eight-run Fisher Cats lead after six innings. "If you put a combination of pitching and defense together that didn't come through in one evening, you're going to have a tough night," manager Tim Teufel said. "And tonight, it was definitely indicative by the score." - link

Lucy:

The Jupiter Hammerheads used four pitchers to combine for a six-hit shutout as they beat the St. Lucie Mets 3-0 on Thursday at Roger Dean Stadium. Robert Bono (1-1) got the win and Corey Madden got his second save. The Hammerheads scored two runs in the second inning without the benefit of a hit. There were two walks, two hit batters and a sacrifice fly by Chris Wade. Kevin Mattison added an RBI single in the seventh. - link

Gnats:

Alonzo Harris hit a grand slam to highlight a five-run fifth inning as the Savannah Sand Gnats won their fourth straight game and defeated the Augusta GreenJackets 16-4 on Thursday night. The Gnats (10-5) moved into first place in the Southern Division of the South Atlantic League, a game ahead of the GreenJackets. After hitting 10 home runs in rookie ball at Kingsport last season, Harris delivered his first dinger this year at a key moment to turn a close 5-3 contest into 9-3.- link
