Wilmer Flores – 3B – A – this is Flores’ second year in Savannah and he definitely looks ready to move on: .330/.388/.520/.907 in 179-AB. He also is leading the team in home runs, with five. The problem with any movement is the fact that St. Lucie gave their shortstop job to 19-year old Wilfredo Tovar, who is holding his own at the A+ level. Yes, Flores is scheduled to eventually be moved to the outfield, but that won’t happen until winter ball. Neither Flores or Tovar would hold their own at the AA level, so my guess is, even though Wilmer deserves the promotion, he probably is going nowhere.
Juan Lagares – OF – A – Lagares’ third shot at Savannah has proved to be the charm, going .291/.310/.487/.797, 4-HR, 31-RBI, in 189-AB. The 21-year old has successfully switched from the infield to the outfield and should have been the first outfield promotion to St. Lucie, rather than Joey August and Cody Holiday, from extended camp. Hopefully, the Mets will correct this mistake before the all-star break.
Stefan Welch – 1B – A+ - the 21-yr. old Aussie has produced stats of .311/.352/.485/.837, in 167-AB, which is his second successful year at the A+ level. No one is really in his way; however, Marshall Hubbard is playing at Binghamton, and Eric Campbell, who recently was promoted, can also play first there. They may be no slot for Welsh until next season.
Dillon Gee – SP – AAA – Obviously, the Mets are looking for some decent starters to get through the first half of the season, and Dillon Gee should be the next one called on from Buffalo. So far this season, he has put up respectable numbers (5-1, 3.86, in 9-ST) and, depending upon the healing schedule of both Jonathan Niese and John Maine, we may seen him sooner than later in Queens.
Eric Turgeon – RP – A – Savannah is full of excellent pitching this year, especially in the pen, and Turgeon looks to be the first to move on to Lucy soon. His stats are impressive: (1-0, 1.11, 0.90, in 16-appearances, 22-K, 3-BB, 24.1-IP). He turned 23 this past March which also shoots him to the head of the promotion class.

Still think BRANDON MOORE deserves the first pitching promotion. Besides leading the starters in Strikeouts, and WHIP, he also has a great ERA, esp for the month of May. Moore was 24 in January, 2010, so, he is the oldest pitcher in Savannah. His promotion is much deseerved and well over due. (He missed one game in the beginning and then only got to pitch 2 innings last night, unfortunately, due to a rain delay.) Otherwise, he has been extremely consistent.
