PRESS RELEASE: - St. Lucie 10, Ft. Myers 2

After an exciting 7-6 walk off win on Saturday to tie the series against the Mets, the Miracle were dug into an early 3-0 hole on Sunday and St. Lucie never looked back in a 10-2 blowout. The Mets outhit the Miracle 16-3, scoring three runs in three separate innings on the day. It was the final game between the two teams at Hammond Stadium this season, with St. Lucie finishing with a 7-2 edge.

Miracle starter Shooter Hunt (1-5) lasted only through the first, allowing St. Lucie to bat around their entire order while they plated three runs. Hunt issued four walks and gave up three hits, as he needed 44 pitches to get through the frame. The right-hander took the loss in his seventh start of the year.

The rest of the Fort Myers pitching staff did not fare well, with five pitchers combining to give up the 16 hits. Michael Tarsi was the lone bright spot, sending down all nine batters he faced in the second through fourth innings. It was his first appearance since the end of July, coming off the DL earlier in the week.

Mets starter James Fuller (2-2) put together five strong innings for the win. He allowed just two singles, and struck out four. The Miracle got their only two runs in the sixth inning against reliever Samuel Martinez. Deibinson Romero drew a bases loaded walk, and Nate Hanson followed with a sac-fly to left.
