2012 Draft: - X's 2012 MLB DRAFT TOP TWELVE

(These names are in no particular order to preference)
OF, Nick Williams, Galveston Ball HS, Texas - one of best hitters I've seen in 30 years, good athlete.

RHP, Lance McCullers, Jesuits HS, Tampa FL - power arm with max delivery and hard breaking ball.

OF, Victor Roache, Georgia Southern U., aggressive hitter with plus power and steady all-around improvement.

LHP-1B, Brian Johnson, Florida, two way guy with good strength and low 90's fb, will be asked to hit for more power which he has shown in bp, but that's not his game, more like a Todd Helton type.

3B, Rio Ruiz, Amat HS, Covina CA, pure hitter with plus arm strength and ave foot speed, also pitches but will be coveted for his bat and comp to Adrian Gonzalez as a hitter.

RHP, Mark Appel, Stanford, one of best natural velocity arms from an elite program.

C, Mike Zunino, Florida, best catcher on paper and potentially could be #1 overall pick in 2012 for a premium position player - shows offensive and defensive strengths to warrant that consideration for me.

RHP, Marcus Stroman, Duke, power arm from a little righty, better fb and slider than Sonny Gray in my opinion, best shot as a closer at ML level.

RHP, Lucas Giolito, Harvard Westlake HS, Cal, tall righty with solid plus fb and pitchability for his size, wish I had seen more of him than just 25 pitches.

SS, Deven Merrero, Arizona St, fundamentally one of best fielders in college game for 2012, also puts the barrel on the ball and his hitting ability should improve or he may drop from MLB Draft boards.

RHP, Michael Wacha, Texas A&M, another tall slender righty with 3 ML pitches and solid command, arm action a bit funky but it works.

RHP, Kevin Gausman, LSU, draft eligible with good velocity and hard breaking ball, decent numbers as a freshman at LSU, now he'll be leaned on to be top starter for an elite program, let's see how he handles that pressure like he did his senior yr in HS.

Mike Zunino would be the name I'd covet.

The Mets would have to go back and lose about another 20 games to get a shot at him

or convince him to get arrested and become a emotional liability.
