AGE & TOOLS ARE IMPORTANT…It seems that the most of the MLB teams are evaluating the possibility of drafting the YOUNGEST player eligible for the 2012 MLB Draft. In fact, the youngest prospect in the Top 300 High School prospect list is Alfredo Escalera (a MIF/OF currently being developed by the IMG Baseball Academy). Escalera is a 5 tools prospect that will be 17.25 years the day of the draft as per various sites (Perfect Game, Prospect Wire, Prospect Watch and MLB Draft). So, since age means more money for the team, Escalera is projecting as an early round pick and a potential revenue maker for any team, hopefully the Mets.
