Springfield 13, Binghamton 6

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL –Six Binghamton Mets pitchers surrendered 13 hits in a 13-6 loss today to the Springfield Cardinals, the Double-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.

In spite of the shaky performance on the mound, the B-Mets offense continued to roll with an 11-hit day.

Cory Vaughn went 2-for-3 with a single and a home run, his third in five Spring Training games with the B-Mets.

Right-hander John Church turned in a forgettable performance on the hill. In one inning of work, the Floridian walked four and surrendered four runs; all without allowing a Cardinals’ hit.

The B-Mets (2-3) welcome in the Jacksonville Suns, Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins tomorrow at 1PM.
