Mets’ RHP Pedro Beato Joins Bisons on
MLB Injury Rehabilitation Assignment


May 25, 2012 –The Buffalo Bisons today announced that New York Mets’ RHP PEDRO BEATO has joined the Herd as part of his MLB injury rehabilitation assignment. Beato is active and available to pitch for the Bisons in tonight’s 7:05 p.m. game against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Beato, 25, has yet to pitch for the Mets this year. He was placed on the disabled list with right shoulder stiffness on April 4, retroactive to March 26. He began his rehab on May 19 with St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League and allowed just two hits and one walk in four innings over three appearances (four strikeouts). He did not receive a decision in any of his outings with St. Lucie (A).

Beato made one appearance with the Bisons in 2011 and picked up the victory over Louisville in his only outing with the Herd on May 15. He pitched 1.1 innings of shutout baseball while allowing two hits on. He spent the remainder of last season with the Mets and was 2-1 with a 4.30ERA in 60 games.
