Mets Option OF Lucas Duda, RHP Pedro Beato to Buffalo

New York selects the contract of Bisons’ RHP Manny Acosta

July 24, 2012-The New York Mets have announced that they have optioned OF LUCAS DUDA and RHP PEDRO BEATO to the Buffalo Bisons. Both players will join the Herd on their current roadtrip. Buffalo is in Louisville tonight to face the Bats at 7:05 p.m.

New York announced last night that they will select the contract of Bisons’ RHPMANNY ACOSTA before their game against the Nationals tonight.

Duda has spent the entire 2012 season with the Mets and has hit .241 (74-307) with 10 doubles, 12 home runs and 44RBI in 89 games. The slugger was with the Bisons in parts of 2010 (70 games) and 2011 (38 games). With Buffalo, Duda has hit .310 (122-393) with 31 doubles, 27 home runs and 77RBI.

Duda was the Herd’s 2010 Stan Barron Most Valuable Player. From June 28-July 2, 2010, Duda tied a Bisons all-time franchise record by homering in five consecutive games.

Beato was 0-0 with a 10.38ERA in seven games with New York. Prior to his promotion on July 5, the righty went 3-2 with a 1.13ERA in 16 games with the Herd (24.0IP). In 60 games with the Mets in 2011, Beato was 2-1 with a 4.30ERA and 39 strikeouts in 67.0 innings of work.

Acosta went 0-1 with a 2.25ERA and 25 strikeouts in 17 appearances with the Bisons (28.0IP). In 19 games with New York earlier this season, the righty was 1-2 with an 11.86ERA in 22.0 innings of work. In 2011, Acosta pitched in 64 games split between the Mets and Bisons, going a combined 5-1 with 2.94ERA and 73K in 67.1 innings.
