Mets Minor League Report – May 24

Savannah (27-19) edges Augusta (26-21) 6-5.
Savannah starter Matt Koch (W, 3-2) got the win, pitching 5.0 innings, giving up 5 R, (4 earned) on 7 H (2 HR) and 0 BB, while striking out 5.
Gnats’ relievers Julian Hilario, (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 4 K) Hunter Carnivale, (a perfect inning with 2 K) and Beck Wheeler (1.0 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K) held the Green Jackets scoreless the rest of the way. Wheeler earned his 4th save of the season.
Kevin Plawecki was 2-3, with a HR and a BB, 4 RBI and 1 R, to raise his league leading AVG to .366.
Jayce Boyd continued hitting, going 2-4, with 2 R. and 2 RBI.
Maikis De La Cruz: 3-4 with a 2B.

Bradenton (20-28) tops St Lucie (26-20) 8-6.
Domingo Tapia (L, 2-4) lasted only 0.1 innings, getting blasted for 6 R on 2 H, and 4 BB. Estarlin Morel followed Tapia and allowed 2 R on 3 H and a BB in 3.2 innings of work. To little avail, 3 Lucie relievers, Jim Fuller, Chase Bradford and Hamilton Bennett held the Marauders scoreless with 2 hits over the last 5 innings.
Aderlin Rodriguez went 3-5 with an RBI, and 2 R.
Travis Taijeron:  2-5. RBI
Matt Reynolds:  2-2, 3 BB, RBI, R.

Portland (28-18) outlasts Binghamton (26-22) 10-9.
Those who savor a slug fest would have loved this one.
Starter Cory Mazzoni, 5 R, 6 H, 4 BB, 2 K in 5.0 innings, was fortunate to come out of it with a no-decision.
B-Mets’ closer Jeff Walters gave up 2 R on 2 H and a BB, to break an 8-8 tie in the top of the 9th, to take the loss.
Cesar Puello: 1-5, HR, RBI, 2 R.
Blake Forsythe: 2-5, HR, 2 RBI, R, SB.
Josh Rodriguez: 3-5, HR, 2B, RBI, R.
Allan Dykstra: 2-3, 2B, 2 BB, RBI, 2 R.
Wilfredo Tovar: 2-5, 2 2B, RBI, R.

At this time Las Vegas (21-24) leads Salt Lake(23-25) 6-2 after 5 innings.
 51’s starter Carlos Torres has gone all 5 innings thus far, allowing 2 R, 1 ER on 6 H and 0 BB, striking out 8.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Josh Satin have homered for the 51’s.
Reese Havens: is 2-3 with a 2B, a 3B, RBI, and 2 R.
