Mets Minor League Report – May 27

Savannah (29-20) tops Greenville (14-36) 4-1.
Gabriel Ynoa (W, 6-2) went 8.0 innings, giving up only 1 R on 6 H and 0 BB, while striking out 6 for the win. Well done Gaby.
Beck Wheeler, (S, 5)pitched a perfect 9th inning,striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced.
Eudy Pina, 3-5, came up big for the Gnats with a HR and 2B, 2 RBI, R.
Stefan Sabol, 1-4, also had a HR.

St Lucie (28-20) not scheduled.

Binghamton (29-22) edges Portland (28-21) 6-5 on a walk-off wild pitch.
Starter Jacob deGrom, went 6 innings, 2 R, (1 ER) 8 H, 2 BB, with 9 K. (no decision)
Reliever John Church was blasted for 3 R on 3 H and 2 BB in 1.2 innings, allowing Portland to take a 5-4 lead in the top of the 8th. Bingo tied it in the bottom of the 8th, and after Jeff Walters (W, 2-2) pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, (2 H, 1 BB, 2 K) the B-Mets won it with that walk-off wild pitch in the bottom of the 9th.
Allan Dykstra: 3-5, excelled at the plate with a HR, 2 2B, 2 RBI, R.
Josh Rodriguez: 2-4, 2 B, BB, RBI, 2 R.
Joe Bonfe: 2-3, RBI, R.

Las Vegas (24-25) outlasts Salt Lake(24-28) 9-7.
Zack Wheeler was less than sharp, giving up 5 R (3 ER) on 4 H (2 HR) and 3 BB, striking out 4 before being removed after 4.0 innings. He was fortunate to get a no-decision.
Sean Henn (W, 1-1) got the win despite not pitching much better, allowing 2 R on 4 H and 2 BB, with 1 K in 2.1 innings.
Gonzalez Germen (S, 1) pitched a perfect 9th, while striking out 2, to earn his 1st save.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis (2-5) homered in his 4th consecutive game and 5 of his last 6 games. Methinks the Captain is making a bid for a recall to Citifield.
Francisco Pena is matching the heat of Las Vegas with some heat of his own. Today he went 2-3 with 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R.

Jamie Hoffmann: 2-4, 2B, RBI, R.
Eric Campbell: 2-4, 2B, RBI, R.
