The B-Mets were held to fewer than three runs for the third time in their last eight games. Akron took the final two games to earn a split of the four game set in their lone visit to Binghamton this year.

The B-Mets scratched across a run in the ninth inning to avoid being shutout for the second time this season. The B-Mets are averaging 2.6 runs per game in their last eight contests, going 3-5 during that time.

Rainy Lara faced the minimum through the first three innings, before the wheels came off in the fourth. After retiring the first batter, the next two reached on a single and a Jairo Perez error. It was the fourth error by the second basemen in 11 games. Yandy Diaz then singled to right field on a play that consisted of one hit, two errors, and three runs scoring for the RubberDucks.

With the ball sitting at the back stop, Diaz began to head home and scored when Lara overthrew Dustin Lawley, who was covering the plate.

Akron added on to their lead one batter later when Destin Hood launched his second home run of the season to center field.

Akron was back at it in the eighth inning, this time against reliever Julian Hilario. The RubberDucks stroked five hits in the frame, getting their fifth run on an Erik Gonzalez single to left field. After an out on the basepaths, Destin Hood hit his second home run of the game.
Trailing 6-0 in the ninth, Dustin Lawley walked with one out. After a Xorge Carrillo double, Jairo Perez grounded out to second to bring in the lone B-Met run.
