RUMBLE PONIES SWEEP AKRON: Wednesday’s 1-0 win earned Binghamton the sweep of Akron at NYSEG Stadium. The series was originally slated to be three games, but one postponement shortened the set to two. On Wednesday, the Rumble Pony arms were stellar, blanking the RubberDucks on just five hits.Patrick Biondi’s fifth-inning RBI single was the game’s lone tally, while Corey Oswalt won his third straight start, moving to 3-2.

BINGHAMTON  STARTER: RHP Casey Delgado searches for his first win in 2017 in his second start against New Hampshire. The righty faced the Fisher Cats on April 28 and was handed the loss in a 7-5 New Hampshire victory. Delgado lasted a season-high 6.2 innings, but walked four and allowed six earned runs. The 26-year-old is in his second season with Binghamton after posting a 4-5 record in 10 starts with the B-Mets last season. The Miami native has allowed at least four earned runs in each of his four starts this season.

AKRON STARTER: RHP Sean Reid-Foley makes his sixth start of the 2017 campaign and already his third against Binghamton. The 21-year-old faced the Rumble Ponies on Opening Day and was hit with the loss. He went just 1.2 innings and allowed an earned run. The 2nd round draft pick opposed the Ponies again on April 29 and again was hit with a loss. He went 3.0 innings, giving up eight hits and four earned runs. Reid-Foley is in his fourth professional season and his first at the Double-A level.

FINDING A WAY: Binghamton is now 6-1 in games decided by one run, the best mark in the Eastern League. Four of Binghamton’s last seven games have been decided by just one tally and the Rumble Ponies have won all four. The lone one-run defeat came back on April 11 against Portland. New Hampshire, at 0-8, is the only Eastern League team without a one-run win in 2017.

WILD HORSES: The Rumble Ponies have won four games in a row for the first time in 2017. Prior to this stretch of victories, Binghamton hadn’t won three straight games and took back-to-back games just three times.

Baldonado has not allowed a run to score 13.2 innings (9 appearances), while Peterson’s streak stretches to 11.2 innings (10 appearances). .
