PONIES WIN FIFTH STRAIGHT: Thursday’s 9-4 win earned Binghamton their fifth straight victory, the team’s longest winning streak since April 2016. Casey Delgado garnered his first win of the season, striking out a season-high seven Fisher Cats over five innings. He held New Hampshire to 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position. The Rumble Ponies walked a season-high 10 times, while Binghamton had four players with multi-hit games.

BINGHAMTON  STARTERS: RHP Mickey Jannis tries to remain perfect in his fifth start of the 2017 campaign. The 29-year-old is 3-0, while his 1.93 ERA ranks 5th in the Eastern League. The knuckleballer also sits top three in opposing batting average, limiting opponents to a .188 clip. Jannis earned his third win of the season on April 29 against New Hampshire at NYSEG Stadium. He retired this first 14 Fisher Cats and took a no-hit bid into the sixth inning. He tossed six-plus innings and struck out six in the 7-3 Rumble Pony victory. LHP PJ Conlon takes the mound for a spot-start in the nightcap looking to snap a two-start skid.

NEW HAMPSHIRE STARTER: RHP Conner Greene searches for his first win of 2017. One of Greene’s two losses came on Opening Day, when he allowed three earned runs in four-plus innings against the Rumble Ponies. Greene saw the Ponies again on April 30, and while he did not earn a decision, Binghamton won 7-6 in 11 innings. Greene’s posted a 6.30 ERA in his two starts against Binghamton, but has limited their bats to a .189 average. The 22-year-old is in his third Double-A season and fifth as a pro.

GALLOP TO THE TOP: Thursday’s Rumble Ponies win bumped Binghamton into sole possession of third place in the Eastern Division. The Rumble Ponies haven’t held the third spot by themselves since April 21 after winning at Erie. It marks the first time Binghamton has been within two games of first place since April 17.

STREAKING IN MAY: Binghamton’s five-game winning streak is their longest since April 2016 and matches Portland for the longest active stretch in the Eastern League.

\SECURITY! Binghamton owns more wins when leading after six innings than any other team in the Eastern League. Thursday’s win propelled the Ponies to a 13-0 mark with a post-sixth inning lead. While five other teams remain undefeated in that scenario, only Reading (12-0) has done so more than eight times. Binghamton is also one of five Eastern League teams with a win when trailing after eight innings.

DOUBLE TROUBLE: Jio Mier has doubled in five of his last six games played. The 2009 first-round draft pick has hits in six of his last seven games, with 5 RBI during that stretch. Mier has more doubles (7) than singles (4) this season. Mier signed with the Mets as a free agent on March 20, 2017.

UP NEXT: The Rumble Ponies continue their four-day, five-game series in New Hampshire on Saturday. LHP P.J. Conlon battles RHP Francisco Riosat Northeast Delta Dental Stadium at 5:35 PM.
