12/26/2017 Winter League Results | 1st Big Fly of the Season for Uriarte, Robles Added to Tigres Playoff Roster, Puerto Rico Releases Official Schedule



Arizona Fall League
- Completed on November 18th

- Naranjeros de Hermosillo 15 - 2 Caneros de los Mochis
  • C Juan Uriarte: 1 for 2, R, HR(1), RBI(1), K

Venezuelan Winter League
- Leones del Caracas 6 - 4 Tiburones de la Guaira



Dominican Winter League Playoffs
Aguilas Cibaenas vs Leones del Escogido [PPD- Rain]
- Tigres del Licey 4 - 3 Gigantes del Cibao
  • PH/1B Jhoan Urena: BB [Pinch Hit for Aderlin Rodriguez in the 8th]
Side Note: RHP Hansel Robles has been added to the Tigres del Licey roster. He has also been activated for the playoffs.The following Mets players are also active for the LIDOM playoffs: 3B/1B Jhoan Urena (Gigantes del Cibao) and OF John Mora (Aguilas Cibaenas).


Roberto Clemente Puerto Rican League
Side Note: Regular Season will start January 5th, 2018.
Side Note#2: The league has released the official abbreviated season schedule on its website. It can be found using the link here. As reported earlier, teams will play 18 games across 3 weeks including doubleheaders every Sunday. The team that finishes in 1st place will go directly to the Championship Game with 2nd and 3rd place competing in a 1 game Wild Card playoff for the other spot. 
Side Note#3: Due to extensive stadium damage and cost cutting efforts in order to support recovery actions, the Indios de Mayaguez and the Tiburones de Aguadilla will merge into 1 team for this season.

Thanks for the updates, Chris. I'm surprised that so few actual Mets farmhands are playing Winter ball.

Do you have any info about who will be playing in PR? With the season only a week away, rosters should be set up by now.

Only the Santurce team has released a preliminary roster and there were no Mets on that list.

The only guy I have so far is RHP Yadiel Flores for the Tiburones/Indios merged team

I remember the days when there were 10 or more (or it seemed that way) Mets players to follow in the Winter.

Do you expect Lagares to get any game action, or is he just window dressing?

I honestly can't get a read. Lagares sought out and received permission to play about 3 weeks ago and was added to the roster 2 weeks ago. Its certainly customary for LIDOM teams to call in reinforcements for the playoffs but the fact that the Aguilas haven't activated him yet has me very confused.

The next chance they have to activate him will be Monday January 1st.
