Simply amazin' - and tragic. I imagine Plawecki gets the heavy workload now.

And... I venture to say that this kind of an injury to the throwing arm of a catcher that seems to fight every day to stay off the DL... is a deal breaker

Who can we pick off the Marlins roster?

J.T. Realmuto is hurt himself.

Tampa Bay?

Let's not react too soon. It's not definite as of now that he needs surgery. And if Plawecki can handle the starting job, it gives us a chance to see what Nido can do.

I will be very surprised if Nido can hit MLB pitching. May I be pleasantly surprised.

Does anyone think, if d'Arnaud does need surgery, if we can or should try to acquire C Tucker Barnhart from the Reds? Career .257/.329/.370 catcher, good against steals. Not sure what it would take to pry him from the Reds.

Everybody loved young starters.

The Nats DFA'd Miguel Montero today. Worth looking into?

Isn't Jose Lobaton in Vegas? I am sure that he is veteran insurance, at least for the short term.

I like Bill's idea, too.

Yes, he's there, but not on the 40. If Travis goes to the 60-day, thatthat will clear a spot.

Ditto, or it may be time to put our centerfield gold glove into one of those western town goldrush scales to see what it pays out in a catcher.

I'd be fine with Lobaton as a backup. His veteran status will not guarantee the lions share of starts .
