Gose went to Bellflower High School in Bellflower, California. In his senior year, Gose had a .443 batting average, a .618 on-base percentage, and 31 stolen bases for the school's baseball team.[1] He pitched for the school's baseball team as well, throwing as fast as 97 miles per hour (156 km/h).[2] Gose also competed in track and field. He ran the 100 and 200 meter races, and the 4 × 100 and 4 × 400 metres relays.[1] Gose also attended the Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy in Compton, California.[3] He received a scholarship to attend the University of Arizona to play college baseball with the Arizona Wildcats.[1]
The Philadelphia Phillies drafted Gose in the second round, with the 51st overall selection, of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft. Gose opted to sign with the Phillies, forgoing his college scholarship for a $772,000 signing bonus.[1] Playing for the Lakewood BlueClaws of the Class A South Atlantic League (SAL) in 2009, he appeared in the SAL All-Star Game.[4] His 76 stolen bases that season led all of minor league baseball.[5]
Gose began the 2010 season with the Clearwater Threshers of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League (FSL). With Clearwater, Gose batted .263 with four home runs, 20 runs batted in (RBI), 17 doubles, and 11 triples.[6] On July 29, 2010, Gose, along with J. A. Happ and Jonathan Villar, were traded to the Houston Astros in exchange for Roy Oswalt and $12 million.[7] Immediately after, he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for first baseman Brett Wallace.[2] The Blue Jays had attempted to acquire Gose from the Phillies before, including in the Roy Halladay trade.[8] They assigned Gose to the Dunedin Blue Jays of the FSL.[9]
Gose was ranked by MLB.com in 2011 as the Blue Jays fifth best prospect in the organization.[10] In 2011, Gose played for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Double-A Eastern League (EL). The Fisher Cats were EL champions and Gose scored the winning run in the championship game. He broke Darin Mastroianni's record for stolen bases in one season, finishing with 70 stolen bases and getting caught only 15 times.[11] He also hit 15 home runs.[3] During the 2011-12 offseason, Gose appeared in the Venezuelan Winter League, batting .182 in 18 games.[12]
Prior to the 2012 season, he was ranked as the 39th best prospect in baseball.[13] Gose started the 2012 season with the Las Vegas 51s of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League.[14] He was named to appear in the 2012 All-Star Futures Game.[15]

Scouting Report (2012):

Anthony Gose is a lefty swinging (and throwing) athletic centre field prospect who was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2nd round of the 2008 MLB draft. He was taken as a young, raw high school kid who was also a promising pitching prospect at the time, armed with a 97-mph heater. Gose had a desire to play every day and had lingering shoulder problems so he was drafted with the expectation of becoming a position player.

When Alex Anthopoulos took over the helm and was faced with the unenviable task of trading the greatest player in franchise history, Roy Halladay, talks advanced with the Phillies (his eventual landing spot) but the Phils balked at the Jays request to add Gose to any package.

As we have learned Mr. Anthopoulos is a man who gets what he wants and after acquiring 1B prospect Brett Wallace he was immediately shipped out to Houston for Anthony Gose (who was acquired in the Roy Oswalt deal) and the Jays immediately went to work to evaluate exactly what they had in Gose.
Gose is a toolsy but raw speedster with three tools that rate well above average with his speed, arm and defense. If he can hit an even a slightly below average clip he can become a very valuable every day major leaguer. If he can develop the hit tool and cut down on his strikeouts, he could become a perennial all-star centre fielder.

Was this a pre-scheduled post (when we thought Gose was in the deal) that accidentally wasn't removed....or do you know something we don't?

I saw in the comments on another thread that the Mets still like Gose and were working on a separate deal for him.

No, just something I had left over from yesterday... planned ahead when we didn't know exactly who was in the deal.... got another one on Sanchez coming up in
a couple of hours...

I do this when my team of writers become inactive (hint :)

Ouch....I will get you something when the deal is fully official...One piece on the trade and another on an OF acquisition.
